Biro sketch of a local Star Ferry Sailor helping to moor a docking ferry boat to the pier at Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon.
He has just caught a rope with his long billhook that was tossed to him from another sailor on the boat, a manual practise that dates back to the 1920’s. It always fascinates me to hear the rope stretch & screech as it takes the weight of the boat amidst the roiling harbour waves.
