As I walked along Great George Street in Causeway Bay, I was captivated by the way the late afternoon sunlight cast exaggerated shadows of the commuters. These shadows seemed to possess qualities of vibrancy and transparency.
I had always thought of shadows as having a “cool” color palette, but I noticed that some of the shadows beneath the red canopies appeared warm in tone, almost glowing against the red sidewalk. Upon closer inspection, I saw how shadows overlapped, intensifying each other. I quickly snapped a photo with my phone, inspired by the idea of creating this artwork that captures these effects and the unique atmosphere of the scene.
