These boxy red cabs are so engrained into the Hong Kong urban landscape, and remain a relatively cheap mode of public transport as compared to other major cities. I’d been thinking about how best to capture an iconic scene like this as I feel it’s ‘very Hong Kong’. So I thought that I’d try the biro pen ink approach rather than painting since it’s almost a dual tone visual that may be able to be rendered in ball pens …and some patience.
