Yesterday, I visited Sham Shui Po which is a busy grassroots area in Kowloon Hong Kong. It's an older neighbourhood that features many tenement buildings with their curved corners and also a few older 'Tong Lau' style buildings with their covered fronts that extend over pavements. I came here to check out some potential locations for a a plien air painting and decided to draw a quick urban sketch. However I couldn't find anywhere suitable to sit until I spied a fire Hydrant on the corner of Tai Nan and Kweilin Street. So here I sat for a while sketching a busy scene with lots of people and noise all around me.
